I'll be the first to admit I find character clothing tacky. Less so for boys, since they have less clothing choices to begin with, but shirts sporting Tweety Bird and Snoopy and other crap like that just really irks me. To each their own, I suppose. Anyhow, I'll also be the first to admit that my child has made me a total
sucker hypocrite!
This kid is OBSESSED with Dora. No joke. Check it all out. Next thing you know our house is going to look like the house in
Fools Rush In (LOVE that movie!) after Selma Hayek gets her hands on it!
Like I said, obsessed! Are your little ones obsessed with anything?
My niece is obsessed with Dora! My sister lets her watch one Dora episode a night, but she would watch 20 if she had her way.
ReplyDeleteAnne isn't obsessed with anything that I can think of, other than maybe frogs. She loves frogs and squeals in delight whenever she sees a frog in a book, in a picture, as a stuffed animal at the store, etc. We don't have TV, so she hasn't yet discovered Dora (though I'm sure she will this summer when her Dora-obsessed cousin has a slumber party!).
YES! Asher loves Elmo! From the very first time he saw that red face Ash would light up and get so excited. It was kind of weird - those Sesame Street designers know what they're doing! ha!
ReplyDeleteAs I type, my daughter is watching Dora reruns on Netflix. It is quite the norm now. Everything she has is connected to Dora. She eyes every store we go to for any Dora related item.
ReplyDeletehow cute is she just chillin with her feet up (probbly watching Dora on TV!) haha
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Bryson is beyond obsessed with basketball. He's pretty fond of all types of balls, but all hell breaks loose when we are at a store and he sees a basketball and we can't go play with it. It's bad!
He likes Mickey, too, but I don't have to wory about a complete meltdown if we happen to walk by a Mickey doll. :)
Yep I just facebooked this to. My twin girls are 16 months and love Dora. We don't have much Dora "stuff" but the accosted a little girl on the weekend as she had Dora shoes. OMG the screams I got "Do-ra, DOR-A, do-RA, DOR-a"
ReplyDeleteThat's funny... we haven't explored the world of Dora the Explorer yet, but B is really into Curious George right now, used to be Mickey Mouse. :)
ReplyDeleteLiara is REALLY into Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse. She doesn't have a meltdown or anything if she doesn't see them or if they come on tv and we turn it off, but she does get excited when they're on. We do have to make a stop in the Disney store whenever we pass on though...
ReplyDeleteJack is really into trucks and cars. All moving vehicles really. He loves to watch them, listen to them, and he now makes a "vroom vroom" noise. I have bought him a lot of Disney Cars merchandise, so maybe he'll become obsessed with that after he watches the movie. But that'll be my own doing! :) He's also pretty into balls and balloons and points them out to me anywhere we go that has them. So cute!
