Mother's Day is Awesome.

Mother's Day ranks right up there with my birthday on the list of "holidays" I most enjoy. In fact, the entire month of May gets a good rep for having both of those things, and so I'm feeling awfully cheerful today, in spite of my broken finger (more to come on that later when typing doesn't take a shocking amount of effort).

Anyhow, today has been great! I woke up to a smiling little A, and then was presented with the most fabulous Mother's Day cards a mom could ask for!

That would have been gift enough for me, but my lovely husband (see how I worked that husband reference in? we're married!!!! ahh!!!) picked out a few gifts for me as well, including a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey (I'm 108th on the waiting list at the library - no joke!), Starbucks iced caramel coffee to go, and a Target gift card! Does he know me, or what?!?!

Anyhow, that would have been great enough to cap it all off as the best Mother's Day ever (well, truth be told, last year's Mother's Day weekend proposal may forever hold that award!), but Ava and I decided we would start a new tradition and bake and decorate sugar cookies together:

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

  1. Awwww. That's awesome! What a great Mother's Day for you. And I LOVE the baking cookies together idea. I may have to start that one up myself. :-) Happy Mother's Day!

  3. That man TOTALLY loves you -- not only did he marry you but he bought you 50 Shades! My husband and I have been married for 17 years but he would never (did I say NEVER) walk into a book store and buy that for me. He did, however, buy me a beautiful pink rose.

    :-)
