I'm thirty today. While forty seems unimaginable, thirty has never bothered me. I'm a homeowner, am married to an amazing, kind man, and have two children that I adore. Thirty is looking pretty dang good. See for yourself:

Ava's Spring Program.

On Friday, May 9th, we gathered with the other families of two-, three- and four-year-olds at our daughter's preschool in order to watch the Spring program that they, along with their teachers and music teacher, had prepared for us. It was such an amazing treat, and something I love about her school. The Christmas program was super special, and the spring one - entitled Picnic at the Park - was so fun, too! The kids did great, and were all so brave to get on stage. Such a great foundation for them to learn to love music and performing arts! I'm already looking forward to this coming year's program!

Mother's Day 2014.

So this is belated, obviously, but we had a lovely time this past Mother's Day, complete with flowers, an awesome card, and a trip to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. Though it ended up being hot (!!), it was still great to get to take Ava back after a couple years, and see both how much she knew about all the animals and enjoyed seeing them, and introducing Jack to exotic animals. He loves animals, and always is trying to reach out and touch them, so I knew he'd enjoy it!
