(Not Entirely) Wordless Wednesday: The Potty Chair

I read this article a couple months back about getting your toddler (gulp!) used to a potty chair by just setting it in their bathroom, and I thought it sounded like a good idea. S wasn't potty trained despite her insane intelligence and physical capability until my maternity leave at 3 years and 4 months (!!!) and I just can't handle that. Anyhow, enter A's introduction to the potty chair:

This next part I wouldn't have believed if I didn't see it with my own two eyes. If you need a second eyewitness, thankfully D was home as well, or he would call me delusional. In a further bid to get A used to the potty chair, I decided we should sit her on it before bathtime so she'll get the idea. Anyhow, last night was the first time we did that, and SHE. PEED. No f'ing joke, friends! I mean, clearly it was a coincidence, but she peed on the potty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ha! Hilarious.

In what is surely may be crossing the line, I even snapped a photo. Oh, boy.

Happy Wednesday!

  3. Way to go Ava!!! I must have read that same article because I have been thinking a lot about this. I'm not sure I want to go the potty chair route though. Maybe just a seat that goes on the big potty. I have no idea!! My biggest concern is that Jack is a boy (obviously), with boy parts (again, obvious!). It might be hard for me to teach him seeing as I don't have the same boy parts and he might get confused. It's too much for me to think about!!

But I'm with you on starting early. I do not want a 3 year old in diapers and don't plan to have one!

  4. HAHA! That's awesome! Good bye diapers, right?? :)

I've actually pulled our potty seat down as well. It's sill in th box, but we plan on doing the same thing. I know boys are much harder to potty train so we need to get a super big head start! ha!

  7. I should look into introducing some sort of potty apparatus in our house as well. I have really been behind on some things [B just had his first night's sleep in his crib last night...GASP] and I need to get my butt in gear!!!!!! I love you snapped a picture of the pee in the potty. :)

  8. Oh wow! Great job A...even if it was coincidence! We are going to start getting Ethan accustomed to it too! Cameron was fully potty trained ...including through the night before he was 2 1/2. I plan on earlier with Ethan....we'll see how that goes.
